Police are also recommending criminal indictments be filed against two close associates to the prime minister, his former law partner attorney Uri Messer and his long-time aide and confidant Shula Zaken, who last served as the director-general of the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to police investigators, the two played a role in Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s alleged criminal activities, suspected of offenses including money laundering, breech of trust, accessory to fraud and other related crimes.
Zaken’s attorney, Micha Fetman, released a statement that he hopes the prosecutor will realize his client did not commit any crime if indeed one was committed and she was unaware of any illegal activities if any took place.
