Police to Decide on Recommendation in Olmert Case on Sunday

Police officials on Sunday are expected to wrap up their case and reach a decision if criminal indictments will be recommended against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in the various investigations going on against him, including the Talansky cash envelopes and the Rishon Tours case, in which Olmert is accused of double billing for airline tickets, profiting from the duplicate payments.

Police before Shabbos signaled it intends to recommend to the state prosecutor to move ahead with a criminal indictment, adding that on Sunday, the senior investigators in the case will make their final determination.

Once the Office of the State Prosecutor receives the police files, it will take a number of weeks to decide if it will file indictments against the prime minister.
