IDF Officials Say That Hezbollah Attack Is Expected Within Days

Israeli security officials estimate that Hezbollah will attack Israel in the next few days to retaliate for the elimination of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr.

The attack is expected to be coordinated with Iran, which right now is not expected to directly attack Israel for the elimination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Ynet reported that Israel believes that Hezbollah will not operate without Iran’s approval. “Hezbollah will only act if it receives a green light from Iran. When Iran says, ‘Wait, stop,’ they stop. We know that Khamenei’s order was also passed on to Hezbollah. The Iranians have also begun preparing a response, which has not yet been actualized.”

The report added that Israel recently sent a strong message to Hezbollah warning that any attack on Tel Aviv will be met with a retaliatory strike on Beirut.

IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Motzei Shabbos that Israel is ahead of a significant week.

“We have a significant week ahead of us amid the negotiations taking place in Cairo, the fighting in Gaza and on the northern border,” he said. “Our readiness is very high in attack and defense, and we will continue to act to remove threats and fight our enemies. The public must remain alert and vigilant. We will immediately update you on any development.”
