H’YD: IDF Announces Deaths Of 3 Soldiers In Central Gaza Strip


The IDF on Motzei Shabbos announced the deaths of three soldiers who were killed in the central Gaza Strip on Friday.

Two of the soldiers were killed by an explosive device detonated by Hamas terrorists in Gaza City which also killed a third soldier whose death was announced on Friday.

The two reserve soldiers were identified as Sgt. First Class (res.) Nitai Metodi, H’yd, 23, from Ashkelon, and  Sgt. First Class (res.) Danil Pechenyuk, H’yd, 27, from Bat Yam. Both served in the 6301st Battalion of the Jerusalem Brigade.

Another soldier was killed on Friday in a battle with Hamas terrorists in the Netzarim Corridor. He was identified as Sgt. Maj. (res.) Yaniv Itzchak Oren, H’yd, from Ein Gedi. He served in the 8119th Battalion of the Jerusalem Brigade.

Later on Motzei Shabbos, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said that the four Hamas terrorists who attacked the IDF soldiers and killed Oren, z’l, have all been eliminated. Three were killed during the battle and a fourth fled the scene but was killed shortly later by an airstrike.
