Did A Hezbollah Drone Surveil Netanyahu’s Home In Caesarea?

Israeli Naval forces reported a possible drone sighting near Caesarea on Friday, Yisrael Hayom reported on Sunday.

The sighting raised concerns that Hezbollah was carrying out surveillance attempts on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s beachside home.

The radar system of a Navy missile ship patrolling off the Caesarea coast detected an unidentified aircraft but other monitoring equipment failed to corroborate its presence. Air Force fighter jets were scrambled to the area but they also failed to locate a drone.

IDF sources said it was likely a false alarm since radar systems occasionally misidentify flocks of birds or other objects as potential threats.

However, the IDF and Air Force did not completely rule out the possibility that it was a tiny Hezbollah drone.

Netanyahu was not in Cesearea at the time. His office said in response to an inquiry on the matter by Yisrael Hayom: “It was determined to be a false alarm.”

Israeli security officials have warned that Iran and Hezbollah may attempt to carry out targeted assassinations of senior Israeli figures in retaliation for the eliminations of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shakr and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
