Mohammed Hamid Jabara, a Hamas commander and member of the Islamic Group (Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya) terror organization, was killed in an IDF airstrike in southern Lebanon on Thursday morning, Lebanese media reported.
The Islamic Group terror organization, which is a Sunni terror group closely affiliated with Hamas and Hezbollah, has participated in the attacks against Israel from southern Lebanon since October 8th.
Following the reports of the elimination, Hamas claimed that Jabara was a commander in its terror group.
The IDF later confirmed the elimination, saying that Jabara was a Hamas commander who “advanced and executed terror plans and rocket and drone launches from Lebanon to Israel, some of them in cooperation with the Islamic Group terror organization.”
There are reports of two additional Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon on Thursday morning but the details of those strikes are still unknown.
