A heated session in the Knesset plenum erupted into chaos as leaders of Arab political parties made inflammatory statements. One of them, MK Ayman Odeh, head of Hadash-Ta’al, was expelled from the plenum after shouting “The terrorist is you” towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, Ra’am chief Mansour Abbas faced intense heckling from coalition members as he spoke from the podium. When Abbas said, “Of course I want to stop the war. Fifty thousand citizens have been murdered in the Gaza Strip,” Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana ordered him to step down.
Abbas’s use of the Hebrew word for “citizens” sparked controversy, as it can also be interpreted as “civilians.” However, the latest death toll reported by Hamas authorities in Gaza stands at 38,794, significantly lower than Abbas’s claim.
