During a tour of southern Israel on Tuesday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak hinted at his disapproval of the public campaign towards obtaining the release of Gilad Shalit. Barak stated the campaign may indeed jeopardize ongoing government efforts to obtain the captured soldier’s release.
“Actions from the heart towards bringing him home may indeed unknowingly complicate the situation.”
Barak was observing an artillery drill, releasing statements that the IDF continues training and is ready for whatever the enemy may have in store.
