PA Minister: PA May File Lawsuits in USA

The PA (Palestinian Authority) minister of prisoner affairs told Israel’s Kol Chai Radio on Tuesday afternoon that the lawsuit filed by the family of Efrat and Yoram Unger, which resulted in a US court handing down a $116 million judgment against the PA and PLO does indeed have the PA concerned.

The Jerusalem District Court on Monday upheld the decision, stating it is enforceable in Israel, compelling the PA to now turn to the Israel Supreme Court in the hope of overturning the district court ruling.

The PA minister stated the current conflict is the result of the Israeli hostilities, as are the terror attacks, calling on both sides to look towards the future and a political solution rather than continued fighting and lawsuits.

He added that if the Supreme Court upholds the decision, and the US verdict is indeed enforceable in Israel, the PA will be left with no alternative but to begin filing similar suits against the Government of Israel and the IDF, seeking compensation “for their murderous actions”.
