Ri’ad Zidan, a farmer from Manda, was shocked to learn the actual weight of one of his watermelons was 56 kilograms (123.3 lbs). The watermelon was declared a national record-breaker by agriculture ministry officials. Ri’ad and his family decided to invite the extended family and friends, and together, they took part in a feast, which was concluded of course with a large helping of watermelon for all.

I’m no farmer, but from my understanding, record-breaking fruits and vegetables do not grow naturally… the farmer has to put in a lot of work to achieve the result. As such, wouldn’t this be a violation of the mitzvah of shvi’is and not a cause for celebration?
