Opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu stated on Sunday that if he is elected prime minister, he will not permit “a single refugee” to return, referring to the Palestinian Authority’s demand for the return of so-called refugees.
Netanyahu warned that according to media reports, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert appears willing to permit a “small number” of refugees and he is also signaling concessions regarding Israeli sovereignty over portions of Yerushalayim, all in the hope of reaching an agreement with Abu Mazen prior to being ousted from office.
Netanyahu stated he will not permit a single Arab to return under the guise of a “right of return” policy and he rejects the prime minister’s willingness to make compromises on the Jewish capital.
