The question now is did Hizbullah make an error in identifying the Lebanese military chopper which was shot down in Lebanon on Thursday? The chopper’s pilot was killed and it is confirmed that Hizbullah fired at it.
The chopper was engaged in a training mission, in an area in which UN forces have an operational mandate. After being hit, the chopper made an emergency landing near Sujoud.
Israel is watching the developments from Lebanon as Arab media reports state 300 Iranian experts have been working in Lebanon to get the terror organization’s anti-aircraft systems up and running, announcing Hizbullah is expecting an Israeli aerial assault and has already issued warnings to Jerusalem. Hizbullah warned that if air force jets are sent over Lebanon, they will have a “quality suicide mission,” vowing to down the Israeli aircraft.
It is unclear exactly what prompted Hizbullah to fire at the Lebanese chopper. Lebanese government officials have ordered an investigation.
