IDF commandos rescued the body of Elad Katzir, H’yd, who was abducted by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group on October 7th and murdered in Gaza, in a dramatic operation on Friday in the heart of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to the IDF, Katzir, H’yd, 47, was murdered by his captors in January. IDF commandos from the Egoz unit found his remains in Khan Younis based on Shin Bet and military intelligence

Katzir, z’l, was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz. His mother, Chana, 76, was also abducted from the kibbutz by PIJ and was released in November in serious condition due to the harsh conditions she was held in. His father, Avraham, H’yd, was murdered at the kibbutz on October 7th.

According to a statement from Kibbutz Nir Oz, Katzir, z’l, was murdered  “after suffering physical and mental torture for months.”
