At a Wednesday news briefing, White House national security communications adviser John Kirby faced questions from reporters about whether President Joe Biden is considering withholding aid to Israel.
ABC News correspondent Mary Bruce queried Kirby about potential aid withholding if changes aren’t made by Israel. Kirby also mentioned that the U.S. anticipates seeing these changes from Israel in the “coming hours and days.”
BRUCE: The president seems to have said to the prime minister today, make these concrete changes or else. It’s the or else that I want to make clear here. Is the president threatening to withhold aid to Israel if they do not make these changes?
KIRBY: The president made it clear that our policies with respect to Gaza, will be dependent upon our assessment of how well the Israelis, make changes and implement changes, to make the situation in Gaza better for the Palestinian people.
BRUCE: And how much time are you giving them to make these changes to implement these concrete steps?
KIRBY: We we would hope to see some announcements of changes here in coming hours and days. And I’ll leave it at that.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Blinken had the following to say:
“If we don’t see the changes [from Israel] that we need to see [in Gaza], there’ll be changes in our own policy.”

What changes exactly??!!
Fighting urban warfare and doing their best to minimize “civilian” (terrorists dressed in civilian clothes ) deaths that are being used as shields.
Instead of bashing Israel , stand behind them and help them crush those terrorists!!
The Zionists are the ultimate “galus Jew”, dependent on, and beholden to, the will of the gentile nations. What a pathetic idol.
Love the way NO-ONE mentions a word about Hamas’s responsibility in any of this, the kidnap victims that are still there, the double standard the world applies against Israel that screams to the heavens – major FAIL to the Biden-Blinken administration, they are only doing themselves damage by blaming Israel, what idiots they are
Biden, Blinken and Kirby: how about talking tough and giving ultimatums to murderers like Sinwar and his savage henchmen? Whats all this threatening against Israel who is going above and beyond protecting civilians (who BTW don’t quite qualify for “innocent”…).
JUST AS THE A-G YM”S SAID: EITHER YESHIVOS SURRENDER TO TORAH HATERS OR WE MAKE YOU STARVE
WHITEHOUSE: EITHER YOU SURRENDER TO HAMAS OR WE STOP SUPPORTING YOU
The Almighty is the protector of Israel not America! Whatever Biden tells them they should do the opposite. The administration has been trying to trip Israel up from the word “Go”. If Israel had attacked Rafah a month ago this would not be happening.
This is an example of the tactic of starting things during a US election cycle actually paying off for the bad guys.
As a side note, even if we take Hamas’ word for the overall casualty count (and Israel’s/the US intelligence for the Hamas casualty count), the militant to civilian death ratio is is lower than any major urban battle fought in decades (possibly ever).
It really makes the US military look incompetent.
to hakatan If zionism is so bad, why have less Jews died in the last 75 years than at any other 75 year period since the first beis hamikdash?
What about the fact that AMERICA is RESPONSIBLE for this war by letting the Arabs know that they were welcome to reopen their terror offices in the us u think that might have played a role in them attacking israel
They will ultimately pay a price for what they are doing as the Gemara in avoda zara says about moshiach times
From: ‘Today’ on NBC, April 5, 2024:
White House national security council spokesperson John Kirby joins TODAY to address the airstrikes that killed members of World Central Kitchen and the calls for an independent investigation. He also weighs in on if the United States is prepared to cut military aid to Israel if they don’t see meaningful changes in fighting.
Guthrue:
…The IDF has just released its findings. It says the strike on the vehicle a grave mistake, stemming from a serious failure from mistaken identification, errors in decision-making and an standard operating procedures. Errors in decision-making..
The WCK says, fine, but it wants an independent investigation…
Kirby:
we will look at that investigation ourselves and take a look at and see what we think of their findings and their conclusions before we make any judgment going forward. This is an agency of the Israeli government that has conducted independent Investigations before…it is almost like an inspector general if you will. They have done this in the past.
Guthrie:…
Kirby:
I don’t want to get ahead of the president…
I will note, one of the things the president did talk about with the PM Netanyahu was the very real threat they are facing from Iran, right now, a very public threat from the Iranians.
And the President made it clear, that our support for Israel and their self-defense is not going to change. The commitment the United states made over previous administrations republican or Democratic and we are going to make sure that to meet that commitment as well. They live in a tough neighborhood. While we are all focused, rightly, on the war in Hamas and Gaza, they’re under threat from the Houthis and militia groups they are funding resourcing training and preparing in Iraq and Syria.
Guthrie:
Fair enough.
To that point, the President when he went to Israel, he called his support for Israel, rock solid and unwavering.
Now it seems, Israel is on a short leash.
Kirby:
Noth things can be true.
You can have a rock solid, unwavering support for Israel because of the neighborhood they’re living in and threats they are facing but take note in the way in which they’re conducting operations. That’s the discussion they had yesterday…
