Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai released a statement assuring Sderot students that they are safe, explaining most classrooms have been fortified to withstand rocket attacks.
He also spoke of the new mini-shelters called “Migunit” which can accommodate some 70 children. They will be deployed around schools, including areas that are accessible during recess breaks.
Regarding the ceasefire, Vilnai called the situation “fragile,” stating new realities may be upon us tomorrow morning. He was pleased to announce that most of the city’s schoolchildren will not have to run from their classrooms in the event of a rocket attack since much work to fortify buildings was carried out since the end of the previous school year.
In the meantime, parents of Ashkelon students are questioning why their schools have been ignored, concerned over the reality that rockets have in the past reached the city and intelligence reports seem to indicate more attacks can be expected in the future.

Vilnai is a dangerous IMBECILE, endangering the lives of Jewish children (and adults). So what if the classrooms have been “fortified”? Don’t these kids have to get TO school and BACK home from school? Don’t they have to play and go do a million things outdoors when they are not in the classroom? Did he fortify the sky to protect them too? What a sick joke! This reminds me of the old story of Chelm, when a bridge was in very bad disrepair, with holes in the roadway and broken railings at its sides. People and wagons were always falling to the valley below and getting killed or seriously hurt. The geniuses of Chelm met for days to decide what to do. Finally they decided… to build a hospital in the valley under the bridge! This is a joke, but Vilnai is doing the same thing for REAL!!! He is gambling with the lives of the people of Sderot (and losing)! He is criminally incompetent!
This is hysterical, he assures them that they are safe, HOW?? When the Jewish people wake up and see that their leaders are purely insane and acting in their worse interest, only then will we see some change….
