The IDF said that the counterterrorism operation in Tulkarem in the Shomron that began overnight Tuesday is still ongoing over 35 hours later.
At least eight terrorists have been killed and 15 wanted suspects were arrested.
Engineering forces uncovered dozens of explosive devices hidden under roads in order to harm IDF forces.
IDF soldiers searched hundreds of buildings and located numerous weapons, military equipment and explosives. Troops destroyed the explosives as well as an explosives laboratory and an observation post.
In the course of the operation, gun battles took place between IDF soldiers and armed terrorists who opened fire and threw explosives at Israeli forces.
IDF forces also arrested 21 terror suspects in other areas of the Palestinian Authority.
