The newly-formed American Israel Action Coalition (AIAC), which has been in existence since the beginning of the year, is calling for new elections in Israel. The organization, which hopes to act as the representative of 250,000 former North Americans living in Israel, this week called for new elections.
The organization hopes to advance the ideal of democracy and democratic values in the State of Israel and it believes an undivided Jerusalem must serve as the eternal capital of the Jewish state.
AIAC Chairman Harvey Schwartz believes elections should take place promptly, and until that time, the government should only address day-to-day issues and avoid major policy decisions.
AIAC founders include Jeff Daube, of the Israel office of the Zionist Organization of America, Eve Harow of Efrat, Rabbi Moshe Gorelik, a former executive VP of the Rabbinical Council of America and Rabbi Binyamin Walfish.
