Yad Vashem Calls for a Global War Against Soaring Antisemitism

Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, has issued a passionate call to political, cultural, religious, and academic leaders worldwide to unite in a resolute stance against the alarming resurgence of antisemitism gripping the world. This appeal comes in the wake of a horrifying attack on Israel by Hamas and Islamic Jihadist terrorists on October 7th, which resulted in the tragic loss of over 1,400 Israeli lives, left more than 3,500 injured, and saw approximately 240 individuals kidnapped and held hostage.

Yad Vashem Chairman, Dani Dayan, has underscored the urgent need to confront this deadly form of hatred against the Jewish people, emphasizing that the recent attack on Israel has highlighted the existential threat posed by antisemitism. Dayan warned, “We are closely following the dramatic increase in antisemitism, both in words and deeds, including violent attacks against Jewish communities, institutions, and individuals across the world. Antisemitism reflects a fundamental problem with society’s core values and is indicative of underlying dangers. History has shown us that hatred directed towards one group often metastasizes, affecting others in its wake. Antisemitism is a malignancy that, if left unchecked, threatens the very fabric of our global society.”

Yad Vashem’s concerns extend to a dangerous trend within Western societies, particularly on college campuses, where attempts to legitimize terrorism by citing supposed mitigating circumstances have emerged. Dayan lamented that “Far too many ‘progressives’ willingly embrace terrorist organizations under the guise of supporting a cause while ignoring the ruthless beliefs espoused by these terrorists. Spurious ideas that demonize Israel and Jews continue to fuel the delegitimization of antisemitism’s existence.”

The Holocaust Remembrance Center also voiced its dismay over academics who engage in polemics to justify prejudice and hate rather than engaging in rigorous scholarly analysis and debate. Cultural and religious leaders, too, were criticized for using their platforms to propagate hate instead of fostering understanding.

In light of these concerning developments, Yad Vashem’s message is clear: concerted action is needed to address the rising tide of antisemitism that threatens societies globally. The organization calls for the protection of Jews everywhere, mending broken dialogues, and returning to a discourse based on reality rather than distorted information.

Yad Vashem also highlighted the manipulation of facts surrounding the conflict with Hamas and their genocidal intentions. It urged the world to acknowledge these facts and reject propaganda that may be “protected” by freedom of speech, emphasizing that ignorance is always dangerous.

Chairman Dayan concluded by stressing the importance of knowing the facts to combat antisemitism and protect societies from extremists aiming to harm not only Jews but all communities.

As the world stands at a critical juncture in modern history, Yad Vashem implores political, cultural, religious, and academic leaders to take meaningful action against antisemitism and stand firmly against those who espouse hatred of Israel and Jews. The global community must unite to confront this dire threat and safeguard Jews everywhere, drawing strength from a shared commitment to peace, democracy, tolerance, and human dignity.

  1. The picture is clearly of a far-right white supremist. Such persons are generally perceived as marginalized nuts.

The problem is of left-wing WOKE anti-Semites who tend to be members of the economic, social and political elites, and are a major part of the Democrat party in the United State, and the Labour party in Britain (and elsewhere). They almost define fashionable dress and grooming, since they are the “elite”.

Whereas the right-wing neo-Nazis are ignored by the establishment right (in part since the establishment right is dominated by pro-Israel Christians, and because the establishment right is conservative and Nazi type ideologies are a “hidush” in America which means it is very un-conservative). Left-wing anti-semites are the leadership of the American left, and heretofore are not marginalized.
