The miraculous rescue of Ori Magidish, 19, from captivity in Gaza caused a tremendous Kiddush Hashem after videos spread of her family davening and publicly thanking Hashem for her release. Another video that spread on social media showed the family, residents of Kiryat Gat, bringing in a Sefer Torah into Ori’s room several days before her release and davening out loud for a yeshuah. And on Tuesday morning, Ori’s mother made a short statement to the press, including: “Thank You, Borei Olam, there’s nothing beside You.”
But another incredible aspect of the story was published on Tuesday by Kikar H’Shabbat. Last Wednesday, HaGaon HaRav Ben-Tzion Mutzafi traveled to Kiryat Gat to deliver a shiur. Many people showed up, including Ori’s father. At the end of the shiur, he approached HaRav Mutzafi and asked for a bracha for a yeshuah and the release of his daughter from captivity.
HaRav Mutzafi, with great emotion, fulfilled his request, and then added: “I can’t promise but b’ezras Hashem, there will be a yeshuah and she’ll return home healthy and whole soon.” The entire kehal answered “Amen!”
Following the announcement of Ori’s release on Monday, one of HaRav Mutzafi’s talmidim wrote to him: “לגדל ולרומם שמו יתברך, צדיק גוזר וה’ מקיים. A week ago, the Rav was in Kiryat Gat and gave a bracha to the father of the captive Ori Magidish. Today all of Am Yisrael heard about her return home safe and sound. אין עוד מלבדו”.
HaRav Mutzafi responded to him: “It wasn’t me – it was Abba above. On Wednesday evening, I arrived in Kiryat Gat to deliver a chizzuk shiur. The shul was full of people, there was a great hisorerus, and the father stood in front of me and cried. I leaned my head on his and I cried with him. Our tears intertwined and we davened that she’ll return home soon and Hashem Yisbarach Rachum V’Chanun heard the tefillah and she was rescued. ברוך פודה ומציל. ברוך שמו”.

YWN – I have no doubt that your intent was good in posting this story, but do you realize just how hurtful it is to the families of others who were kidnapped and not yet returned? I’m sure that the families of many of them also went to various Rabbanim, tried different Segulos, and performed different Mitzvos for the Zechus that their relative return – and nothing has yet happened. A bit of sensitivity is in order.

There are over 200 hostages in captivity. A story like this is so hurtful. There is no doubt it was Yad Hashem that freed Ori Megidish but while we’re still crying over the babies, small children and all the others who were taken to Gaza it’s extremely insensitive to tell stories like this.

wrote a Sefer (maybe his children printed it after his passing) all about prayer. It is called “Gates of Prayer” and the Hebrew version is called
שערים בתפלה
It is a beautiful Sefer all about davening.
Actually, Rabbi Pincus when he was alive, he was the Rav of Ofakim.
Please permit me to add one more thing:
If a person is carrying a burden of Lashon HaRah (evil speech) on his shoulder, then that might complicate his prayers. His prayers might not be answered immediately.
If a person hears Lashon HaRah, he is not allowed to accept it as 100% definite true news. He is allowed to accept it partially and I mean in order to protect himself from harm. Maybe it’s true or maybe it’s fake news.
Never accept it in your heart that it’s for sure the true news. Maybe it’s fake news.
But keep a distance from that person because maybe maybe that person wants to harm you.

What a kind of And sensitive person. Another way of looking at this article could be that just like Hashem saves Ori. IYH everyone will be saved. Just like her family believed we must as well.
@anIsraeliYid – No one is forgetting the others. If anything, articles as this one give chizzuk. If Ori was released unharmed, BE”H we have even more hope than before that others will also be released soon, unharmed as well. I understand that it hurts another parent that this woman was released and not their parent/sibling/child. But K’lal Yisroel isn’t celebrating this as the end of the campaign. It reminds us to continue davening for the safe return of all hostages, as well as our soldiers, and to keep increasing our zechusing for all of them! May we be zoche to hear and keep sharing only good news!
