Locals in the Hamadan province of Iran desecrated the kevarim of Mordechai HaTzaddik and Esther HaMalka and burned Israeli flags at the site in the wake of the war between Israel and Gaza, B’Chadrei Chareidim reported.
They also sent a letter to the Iranian Culture Ministry demanding that the site be converted into a “museum of the crimes of the Zionist regime” and that a public relations office of the “Palestinian resistance forces” be established there.
The letter falsely claimed that the request was made with the consent of the local Jews.
Dr. Homayoun Sameyah, a Jewish member of the Iranian parliament, responded by sending a letter to the Iranian authorities, asking for its protection.
Sources in the community said that Iranian Jews are feeling a lot of stress and fear in the wake of the war and “the situation is not good.”
They added that shuls in Iran are now functioning on a limited basis only in order to avoid unnecessary attention.

Playing with fire big time! MH and EHM will avenge not only the desecration of their kevorim but that of the Jewish people and the massacre that Iran supports.
This is interesting because Mordecai and Esther are also important in Islam.
There must have been a core group of yidden in pre-War Germany in denial up to the last days hoping that if they kept a low profile, somehow, they would be able to evade what was clearly imminent. I’m sure that for those Yiddenremaining in Iran and other Arab countries, it is incredibly difficult to imagine leaving their assets behind (accumulated over generations) and accept the sad reality that there is no future for them where they are and indeed, their families lives are at risk.
