During a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting held in Tel Aviv, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant provided in-depth insight into Israel’s military objectives and strategy in the Gaza Strip.
Central to this strategy is the goal of neutralizing the Hamas terror group by systematically targeting its military and governance structures, Gallant said. Additionally, Israel aims to relinquish its current responsibilities in Gaza, establishing a revamped security framework in its place.
Detailing the multi-phased approach, Gallant confirmed that the conflict was presently in its initial stage, marked by military airstrikes and a subsequent ground operation. “The purpose of these operations is to neutralize operatives and cripple infrastructure, ultimately leading to the defeat of Hamas,” Gallant said.
The minister went on to explain the subsequent phase, which would involve persistent combat, albeit at a diminished intensity, focusing on eradicating residual resistance.
“The third step will be the creation of a new security regime in the Gaza Strip, the removal of Israel’s responsibility for day-to-day life in the Gaza Strip, and the creation of a new security reality for the citizens of Israel and the residents of the [area surrounding Gaza],” Gallant said.

Can someone elaborate on the 3rd step? if Israel removes itself from the day to day responsibilities of gaza, then what exactly is the “creation of a new security reality”? You mean trust the Palestinians while removing ourselves?
This is a sad joke!!!
At the end people will come to the realization (or perhaps they came to it already, but have no guts to say it or do it), virtually all Palestinians will have to be removed from Erets Yisroel, including the West Bank and Gaza.
We hope Hashem does it speedily and send us Moshiach
Boy that has taken a long time to figure out. Now why is gaza still showing on my GPS?

I’m sure he means of course that we will all start trusting in the One and only above all!!! No need to rely on Israeli military or anyone else for that matter. הלואי
They are still dreaming if they believe removing Hamas alone will create a new security reality. They’ll never admit that Kahana was right.
Chaim
They probably want to keep it vague for a reason
Chaim87:
Unless you are a part of the Israeli government, then they are not discussing removing “our”selves; the Zionists are discussing removing “them”selves.
It could be an international force as done elsewhere. Could be Egypt. Whatever it is, it’s not “our” people.
yochy:
You do know that the gedolim including the Chofetz Chaim have noted that the Zionists are from zera amaleik?
It definitely is vague, both in the original and in the translation. Likely it’s deliberate, to placate our “loyal” tenuous allies “על תנאי”, and also the world hoi polloi.
But (short of totally obliterating Gaza, the only fully appropriate response) what i want to think it means, what i really really really want it to mean, is that Israel will be there as a security force only. No more gifting of electricity, gas, water, humanitarian supplies, nada. Let Egypt babysit them. Gezunterheit, we are the sentries, lessaiz faire the rest.
