ESCALATION: IDF Bombs Lebanon After Terrorist Infiltration; Six Israelis Injured

In response to the escalating tension along the Lebanon border, the IDF Home Front Command has issued a directive for residents of 28 towns in northern Israel to seek shelter immediately and remain there until further notice, as a precaution against potential rocket attacks.

This directive applies to a range of northern towns, including but not limited to Metula, Rosh Hanikra, Manara, Shlomi, Misgav Am, and Dafna. Earlier, residents of Arab al-Aramshe, Adamit, Hanita, and Eilon were also instructed to take cover.

These orders coincide with the IDF conducting airstrikes in Lebanon as a response to an armed infiltration incident along the border. The military reported that a group of armed individuals had crossed into northern Israel from Lebanon, prompting IDF troops to engage and neutralize several of them.

The Galilee Medical Center located in Nahariya reports that it has admitted six individuals injured during the clashes along the Lebanon border. Among these casualties, one is in critical condition, while another is in serious condition.

The IDF has not released any official information regarding casualties resulting from the incident. The military stated that its troops engaged and eliminated several gunmen who had infiltrated into Israel.

  1. One of the most cogent commentaries about these developments came in a lengthy op-ed from Dr. Dov Zakheim, a frum yid and senior DOD official in Republican Administrations going back to the Reagan presidency. In the excerpt below, he raises some obvious questions which will have to be addressed at some future point.

“….The Israeli government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in particular have a lot of explaining to do. How could a wall to protect Israelis from Hamas attacks be so paper thin, when the wall dividing Israel and the West Bank is so formidable? How could a simple bulldozer break through the Gaza wall without being first destroyed by Israeli aircraft or drones, which are meant to be ubiquitous over the strip? Why was Israel unable to obtain proper warning of an attack that appears to have been planned for some time? And if, as has been reported, Israeli military officials warned the government of a possible Hamas operation, why did the government sit on its hands….”
He goes on to assign considerable responsibility to Netanyahu and his fixation the past several months on pushing through “judicial reforms” which would personally benefit his own legal troubles while ignoring the growing threats from Hamas. While I suspect that may have some truth, there is enough blame to go around to the prior government, a mindless U.S. effort to negotiate some new deal with Iran etc.

  2. I agree about the wall. They should use the same big strong wall they use in west bank and there is no reason to ever open it up. They can work in Egypt all they want, why help them get inside? The only answer to these questions is that Bibi wants to extend this war to be able to fight Iran with the backing of USA.

  3. In this case, Dora is at least partly right. The Zionists already have a record of ignoring intelligence that cost Jewish lives in the Zionists’ Y”K war 50 years ago, not to mention the rest of their evil for over a century.

Of course אם ה’ לא ישמור עיר שוא שקד שומר is true, but you’re misapplying that dictum (in addition to misspelling a few of the words). That dictum applies when the watchmen do their requisite effort. But if there was no requisite effort, then אם ה’ לא ישמור עיר שוא שקד שומר is not relevant as there has to first be שקד שומר.
