Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka HaGaon HaRav Dov Landau on Motzei Shabbos/Simchas Torah ordered the cancellation of all hakafos shniyos is all yeshivos across Eretz Yisrael after Hamas terrorists launched a multi-pronged attack on Shabbos morning, murdering over 250 Israelis, wounding thousands and launching thousands of rockets into Israel.

Kosel Rav HaRav Shmuel Rabinowitz canceled the hakafos shniyos event at the Kosel. Instead, tefillos were held for the refuah sheleimah of the wounded, the return of the Hamas captives, and the success of the Israeli security forces.

Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka HaGaon HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch said on Motzei Shabbos that bochurim should stay in the Beis Medrash and learn.

“Regarding yeshivah, it is possible we will cancel Bein HaZemanim,” HaRav Hirsch said. “It can’t be that there’s a war and we’re not in yeshivah. Even if we don’t cancel Bein Hazemanim for whatever reason, it’s assur for anyone to go on any tiyul! Or stam to walk on the street! Either at home or in the Beis Medrash -otherwise it’s an unparalleled Chillul Hashem – and also pikuach nefesh.”
