Shin Bet: Cancer Patient from Gaza is a Wanted Hamas Operative

Rejecting criticism that a gravely ill cancer patient is being denied entry to Israel for medical assistance, officials in the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) explain the man in question is a Hamas operative.

Ahmed Abu Shavish did at one time receive medical care inside Israel, but the Shin Bet has revoked his permit to cross into southern Israel due to his affiliation with the terror organization, despite his deteriorating medical condition.

Following an urgent appeal by the Physicians for Human Rights organization, the ISA stated it would permit his entry on condition they are given the opportunity to question him.

Gaza sources report that due to internal bleeding connected to his advanced bladder cancer, he requires a unit of blood several times weekly.

As of Tuesday night, the human rights organization informed the ISA the patient is too ill to be questioned; now awaiting a response if his entry into Israel will be permitted.
