HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Ezrachi, Rosh Yeshivas Mir, delivered a teshuvah sichah on Monday at the Nishmas HaTorah yeshivah, a small yeshivah high school in Givat Shaul, Kikar H’Shabbat reported.
HaRav Ezrachi related that his father-in-law, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Shmuelevitz, z’tl, told him that his Rabbanim at the Mir told him that an eitzah to be zocheh in din during the Yamim Noraim is to have compassion on others. “The great challenge of the Yamim Noraim is to transform the midas hadin into the midas harachamim,” the Rosh Yeshivah said.
“If every one of us will act with rachamim toward others and be mevateir to his friends, do chessed with his family and neighbors, then in Shamayim, they’ll also act toward him with rachamim.”
The Rosh Yeshivah explained that according to these words, a question arises – how can we daven the tefillah ‘מכניסי רחמים הכניסו רחמינו’ to the melachim? Isn’t it assur to make requests from melachim?
“The answer is that we request from the melachim to gather all the times in which we acted with midas harachamim – all the times that we were compassionate with our friends, our neighbors, or stam with people – that they gather all these incidents and bring them up before the Kisei HaKavod. And that’s how we’ll be zocheh that Hakadosh Baruch Hu will transform the middas hadin into midas harachamim.”
HaRav Ezrachi then began singing “machneisei rachamim” and the all the bochurim joined in, as can be seen in the video below:

Thank you for bringing to us this beautiful inspiring story.
I’m sorry, but it seems that some crucial parts were omitted in the transcription of the shmuz. It is incomprehensible as written.
