Olmert Did Not Convince Police of his Innocence


ol.jpgPrime Minister Ehud Olmert on Friday was questioned by police on Friday for the fifth time in recent weeks, with the session lasting three hours. He did not persuade police of his innocence, with the questioning session focusing on the Rishon Tours chapter, alleging the prime minister regularly submitted multiple billings for airline tickets, profiting over $100,000.

Olmert placed the blame for any wrongdoing on members of his staff, but police are not convinced and reports point to a criminal indictment in the coming weeks.

A former advisor of Olmert’s during his tenure as minister of industry & trade, Eldad Rothman, was arrested last week. He was questioned for a number of hours and released to house arrest. Police believe that he intentionally compromised the investigation, interfering with the case. Rothman was questioning pertained to another case against Olmert, addressing political appointments by the former industry & trade minister.

  1. Good! The police are finally going to arrest a true guilty party and not something they conjure up on their own to harass the frum community.
