Driver Who Crashed Into Family Had Previous DUI Arrests


Israel Police on Friday arrested the driver who swerved from her lane and collided head-on with the car carrying the Domnovitch family, causing the death of the baby of the family and critically injuring the father and son.

According to the police, the driver – a 25-year-old woman from Rishon L’Tzion – is suspected of negligent manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

“In a blood test taken from the driver immediately after the accident, her alcohol level was found to be three times the legal limit, and a marijuana-type drug was found,” the police stated.

Channel 13 News reported that the woman has already been caught driving under the influence of alcohol in the past and her driver’s license was revoked as a result.

Other reports said that another driver on Route 40 had called the police right before the crash to report a vehicle on the road driving recklessly and was still on the phone when the accident occurred.
