SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Monday, day 48 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 772nd day in Hamas captivity.

*Rock-throwing attacks against Israeli motorists were reported on Sunday near Na’alin. No injuries were reported.

*IDF soldiers involved in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron on Sunday night arrested four wanted terrorists. The suspects were turned over to the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation.

*Israeli intelligence officials are warning Israelis that Hizbullah is planning to target Israelis in western Africa. Nevertheless, a travel advisory has not been issued by the government’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*The IDF will be buying US-made self-heat meals for ‘manot krav’, battle rations, manufactured by Meal Mart. Learning from the difficult lesson of the Second Lebanon War, thousands of the glatt kosher OU-certified meals were purchased and are ready for an emergency situation.

*In response to mounting fuel costs, Israir will be canceling its regular flights to NY this winter. In addition, the airline may also limit or cut a number of flights to European destinations.

*Kadima accusing opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu of incitement as was the case prior to the assassination of Yitzchak Rabin.

*Israel on Sunday released former Hamas Finance Minister Omar Abdel Razeq from prison, reporting he served his sentence.

*Jonathan Pollard petitioning Tel Aviv Court: He insists that neither he nor his wife have received financial assistance from the State of Israel as government officials have claimed.

*The state will respond to the Supreme Court on Monday regarding an ACRI (Association for Civil Rights in Israel) petition intended to prevent Israel from returning Fatah terrorists to Gaza.
