RARE INCIDENT: Entire Golani Brigade Deserts Base In Anger Over New Commander

In a rare incident, all the soldiers in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade deserted their base due to their anger over their new commander.

The soldiers laid down their weapons and left their base in protest over the dismissal of their commander, who was transferred from his position due to “incompatibility.” The commander was replaced by an officer from the Paraptrooper’s Brigade, which was apparently seen as an insult to the Golani soldiers.

The soldiers also launched a “protest campaign” on social media over the issue.

The move was condemned by the IDF which issued a statement saying that it is “a serious incident that is not in accordance with IDF values and what is expected of IDF soldiers. The issue is currently being investigated and will be handled accordingly.”

One social media user wrote: “The left that started by normalizing the phenomenon of refusal destroyed the IDF.”

  1. By reputation (possibly anachronistic), the Golani would tend to be more likely to be Sefardi, Proletarian and not necessarily anti-religious, whereas the Paratroopers are socially and economically more likely to reflect the secular Ashkenazi ruling class. Was this an issue? The article leaves more questions than it answers.

  2. The left has advocated for and is responsible for this breakdown in military order. They and their foreign financiers would rather destabilize the country then let the people’s popularity elected opposition government run it. They do not want democracy. They want continued unchecked leftist judicial dictatorial control of the country. This way they don’t have to win elections to remain in power.

  3. To all the idiots that feel happy every time something bad happens in Eretz Yisrael, know that the State of Israel is a reality where seven million Jews (many of them Bene Torah) live and have their lives. This is not the 1920’s. When you wish and you are happy and you pray for its collapse, unless you mean that, as the imminent arrival of Mashiach, you are basically wishing pain and mayhem upon millions of Jews.

  4. The Zionist government collapses, and you have millions of people — many of them Charedi or frum — in a threat for their lives. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the fact.

Well yes. zionism is an abomination of a truth, and that is evil. Furthermore there have been many evil things done in its name, for such is the nature of falsehood.
There is always a justice being played out in this world. My prayer is that it comes through teshuvah M’ahava, and not r”l through hardship.
But to see the evil unraveling. Yes, that is something i rejoice about.
