Iranian officials are unwilling to even ‘play the game,’ telling the United States and the international community, Iran will not budge one millimeter regarding ongoing nuclear enrichment efforts. This policy message was reaffirmed over the weekend when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met in Tehran with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino responded angrily to Iran’s continued defiance regarding the international community’s demands to halt the nuclear program. During his visit to the United States last week, Defense Minister Ehud Barak called on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to step up sanctions on Iran, explaining it is obvious that the current sanctions are not achieving the intended goal, namely pressuring Tehran to halt the uranium enrichment efforts.
In the meantime, Israel has stated it prefers diplomatic channels but it is obvious efforts have been underway to prepare for a possible future military assault against Iran. Following his recent visit to Israel, democratic presidential hopeful Senator Barak Obama stated that while he was not told directly that Israel may attack Iran, it became obvious to him from discussions with senior administration officials that a military strike may be unavoidable if the sanctions do not compel Iran to halt the nuclear program.

When is everyone going to stop talking and do something? This little nothing has big mouth. Point some cruise missiles when he and his hate mongering rats gather and bomb them down to Muhammad.
What happens now? More meaningless and time wasting sanctions which accomplish nothing? It’s only a matter of time before military action will need to be used.
Maybe Barak HUSSEIN Obamanation could make a trip to Iran now and talk to them. Sit down for a nice cup of coffee or something. Sing a few iranian folk songs? Perhaps some of our Purim songs would be appropriate.
Iran is simplyu pushing and pushing until they are offered a great deal! They want the dumb West to say, “Oh please Iran, we will give you so much if you stop your nuclear program.”
Of course, whatefver the offeris, iran will say, “That is not enough.”
So, they will get whatever they can squeeze out of their enemies while they appear to caving in to demands.
#1 and #2
both of you above sound like you wish to be the prime minister of israel.
it doesnt work the way you want it. the option of war is a very difficult one.what about the missles of iran?on land and sea. what about the missles of gaza?hizbollah.what about the missles in lebanon?hamas. the straits of hormuz need extra protection so that the oil supply is not hindered; let alone what the meshugoim in iran might and go after the oil supplies, there are a lot of variables we havent even mentioned. what role will the usa take ; yes i think that israel will have a tough time doing it by itself.the rebono shel olim should the proper ideas into these lev me’lochim and the right derech should be effected.
TO ras18,
You bring up a lot of concerns such as hezbollah and hamas, but what’s the other side of the coin?-Iran building even one nuclear weapon and then Israel is faced with a nation that has the desire and ability to destroy it. Israels existence would then be in grave danger. We must daven for Hashem’s intervention as you stated.
How is what this Ahmadinejad saying not worse than what Saddam Hussein’s attitude when we invaded Iraq? A loud mouth like this, even if he does not represent all of Iran, can have a big influence, heaven forbid, if allowed to spew his evil. I guess the difference being Ahmadinejad left out a threat to the elder Bush.
Iran will scvram and yell but in the end they will back down! Yes, they will back down and surrender like the cowards they really are. THey are just waiting for the best begging deal from the U.S. Oh please dear Iran, oh please. We will give you this and that and that if only you will stop the nuclear aims you have, please etc.
So, what else is new?
