Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik, a member of the Kadima Party, has announced she does not plan to come out in support of any of the candidates in the party leadership race. Itzik has signaled she plans to remain neutral as the contenders seek the endorsement of senior party leaders.

Itzik has told close colleagues she feels that supporting any one candidate will compromise her abilities to work towards reuniting the party’s powerbase following the primaries.
