SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Sunday, day 47 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 771st day in Hamas captivity.

*Border police arrested three suspects in Na’alin during the night. They were turned over to the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation.

*Communities in the Gaza periphery are planning to turn to the Supreme Court against the state for stopping work to fortify their homes due to a lack of funding.

*IDF forces operating under heavy machinegun fire rescued Fatah members who were fleeing Gaza City fighting on Saturday.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Military police are investigating a motzei Shabbos incident on an Ashdod area navy base in which a female soldier was moderately wounded by the accidental discharge of a weapon. She was transported to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.

*The cabinet on Sunday is expected to approve a NIS 750 million cut in spending for government ministries, primarily to fund payments for Holocaust survivors as per the Dorner Commission Report.

*Fatal vehicular accident on Highway 6 near Ben Shemen. One person was killed; two are reported in critical condition, 2 serious and a number of others light.
