A terror cell in the Gaza Strip planning major terror attacks in Israel, including a shooting attack in Jerusalem in the coming days, was uncovered in recent weeks, the Shin Bet revealed on Tuesday morning.
A joint operation by the IDF, the Shin Bet and Israel Police uncovered the terror cell, led by two residents of Rafah, a city in the southern Gaza Strip. Ayman Youssef Yosef Khalik Zakut, 31, and Mohammad Zabri Aram, 40, are members of the Popular Resistance Committees, a terrorist organization funded by Hamas and Hezbollah.
According to the Shin Bet, Zakut and Aram recruited Palestinians in Yehudah and Shomron and provided them with training and weapons to carry out attacks against Israeli targets.
Two Arabs from Yehudah and Shomron, who were arrested recently for suspected crimes on behalf of the terror cell, confessed that they received instructions and a gun to carry out a major shooting attack in Jerusalem in the coming days.
Last month, two brothers, residents of Yehudah and Shomron, were arrested after being supected of having been recruited to carry out a bomb attack in Israel.
The network was under covert surveillance at all stages of planning and b’chasdei Hashem, was exposed before any of its plans could be carried out.

I’ll repeat a comment I posted in response to another comment: I honestly don’t know whether these reported incidents are real or not cuz there is a long history of the state faking terrorism or inciting it (they’ve done stuff similar to the Lavon Affair in Yisroel proper), but either way, I know these incidents are reported in order that people will be so inclined to have hakaras hatov to the medinah and army. Meanwhile, the medinah literally just tried to kill everyone there under durress in a genetic experiment and now really just wants the public to rally round the flag and support the medinah for their safety. That’s my perspective, in all due respect to the slaves in compulsory military service who have no choice but to serve the medinah or be detained.
