While the levaya of Elan Ganeles, h’yd was taking place early Wednesday afternoon, Israeli security forces captured the terrorists suspected of murdering him in a terror attack near Yam Hamelech on Monday evening.

Israeli security forces surrounded a home in the Arab village of Aqabat Jabr, next to Yericho in the Jordan Valley, in which the suspects were hiding. A gun battle ensued and one terrorist was eliminated after he tried to escape the home and at least three Palestinians were injured.

Two terrorists were detained and transferred for questioning.

The operation was carried out by IDF soldiers, Border Police officers and Shin Bet operatives.
