Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman slammed the Biden administration for interfering with Israeli internal affairs following its demand that the Israeli government prosecute the Jews who rioted and destroyed property in the Palestinian town of Huwara following the murder of Hillel and Yigal Yaniv, h’yd.
“We expect the Israeli government to ensure full accountability and legal prosecution of those responsible for these attacks in addition to compensation for the loss of homes and property,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a press briefing.
Friedman responded by writing on Twitter: “No doubt, the riots in Huwara must be (and have been) condemned by the Israeli government. But I don’t recall Israel demanding that the US prosecute rioters in, say, Portland in 2021. Not helpful to interfere.”
