As was reported recently by YWN [HERE], the medevac transportation of accident victims may be ending since HMOs are unwilling to flip the bill and the company hired to provide the service has not been getting paid for the service.
Lawmakers have introduced a bill that would make the helicopter evacuation of wounded victims part of the healthcare package. Victims would have to pay for the service but they would be reimbursed.
Road safety organizations praise the bill, which they say will save lives, expressing their hope that it is passed into law.
