The police officers who neutralized the Ramot terrorist spoke about those fateful moments when they realized that a murderous terrorist had committed an attack.
At the time of the attack, Sergeant A., a detective in the central unit of the Jerusalem police district, was on his way to visit relatives in his private car and was not on duty. He ended up being the first police officer to arrive at the scene of the attack seconds after it happened.
“At around 1:27 p.m., I was driving my private car on Golda Meir Highway. On my left, I saw a bus stop with a number of people lying on the ground and a car there. I understood that it was a ramming attack. I pulled out my gun and ran toward the car. I fired one bullet in order to neutralize the terrorist.”
Sergeant A., who was dressed in civilian clothes but was wearing a police cap, was joined by Seargent N., a patrol police officer from the Lev HaBira station in the Jerusalem district, who arrived at the scene after hearing the report of the attack on the police communications network.
