For the first time in the history of Israel Police, thousands of police officers and Border Guard officers throughout Israel stopped what they were doing to daven for the safety of the country.
On the background of the delicate security situation in Israel, including the recent murderous attack in Neve Yaakov, the Rabbanim of the police, under the command of Police Rav Deputy-Chief Rav Rami Birchiyahu and Border Police Rav Cpl. HaRav Yitzchak Bleichbard, made a decision to hold a special tefillah.
A main gathering took place in the shul of the Central District on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to daven for the safety of the soldiers and police who risk their lives night and day.
Rav Barchiyahu said that he feels the great responsibility Israel’s security forces carry on their shoulders and the need to be mechazeik them. “Am Yisrael owes a debt to officers who risk their lives every day and night and at every place in order to enable the existence of normal life throughout Israel.”
