On Monday, YWN met in person with Rav Shmuel Eliyahu, the chief rabbi of Tzfas and son of Rav Mordechai Shlita.
Rav Shmuel told this reporter that his father Shlita is indeed continuing to recover, and does communicate with those around him. He is gaining strength and capable of movement. The tzibur is requested to continue davening for his total recovery, Mordechai Tzemach ben Mazel Tov.
