National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said he is taking “responsibility” for the recent deadly terror attack in Jerusalem that resulted in seven deaths.
He says at the start of his Otzma Yehudit political party’s meeting in the Knesset that the attack happened under his watch and he is not avoiding responsibility.
He requests the police to compile a list of targets and gather intelligence with the aim of collecting weapons from neighborhood to neighborhood. If that isn’t possible, they will create a list of targets and intelligence.
Ben Gvir also commits to re-introducing legislation to impose the death penalty for terrorists, stating that anyone who kills, injures, or slaughters civilians should face the electric chair.

I reluctantly agree, as long as it applies to ANY terrorist action or murder by any party, regardless of ethnic or religious identity. The cycle of terrorism and vigilante responses had to end before it spirals out of control.
When will the “ Yeshivaworld “ kick the anti yeshivaworld anti-Torah anti-Jews anti-Hashem off this platform???
Come on we need some standards
Pity that this is even controversial. And no, terrorism against the nation is not the same as murder. It is perfectly consistent to have a death penalty for terrorism and not for murder.
My comment is in reference to the first commentator here…
We have all seen is anti torah views
Maskim maskim maskim!!!!!!! It’s about time
Halachically, may one kill Jewish vigilantes?
No one in the world uses electric chairs. Firing squads (or a bullet through the head) are popular, as is hanging (though mainly in backwards country). Lethal injection is most common. In Jewish tradition, beheading was the way the government disposed of those they wanted dead.
Why are we killing terrorists? I propose another idea, as I found suggested in other comments. The terrorists and those supporting them should be maimed to the point where committing another act of terror is completely impossible. They should be left to suffer, enduring pain for the rest of their days. They should be burdens to their families to care for them in their disabilities. A few amputations, a few diseases.
The difference between terror and murder is simple. Terror leaves everyone else being unable to feel safe even when nothing is happening at the moment. The innocent person living their life cannot do so as normal, always needing to fear that some animal will put them in danger. That’s psychological torture. That favor needs to be refunded in full. The terrorists and their supporters should be subjected to a life of fear and suffering. No reason not to save the bullets and medications used for lethal injections.
Ben Gavir , But who gives him the right to go unlawfully to
Haar Habies and putting in stake jewish blood
for NOTHING ………………….
If Israelis indiscriminately go out and murder the first Palestinian they see, it will obviously trigger additional attacks by these animals (not that they need an excuse). In that way, the murderer is effectively encouraging more “terrorism’ and his/her actions are indistinguishable
I dont think it’s great to kill terrorists. The Zionist and the Palestinians having an argument over the Palestinian land and the resolution cannot be killing innocent civilians
IF TERRORISTS SHOULD GET THE ELECTRIC CHAIR, WHY NOT START WITH YOURSELF AND YOUR FELLOW ZIONIST WARMONGERERS WHO ARE IGNITING THE ENTIRE ARAB WORLD AGAINST THE JEWS JUST LIKE THE ZIONISTS שר”י DID BEFORE THE SO-CALLED “HOLOCAUST”??!!
Yossi
If you have something intellegent to say than say it….if not than don’t
PUTTING IT IN CAPS DOESN’T RENDER IT INTELLEGENT.
We should use their organs to help other jews live
JayD and Yossi name Edited:
The terrorist animals will murder any Jew, and Zionism has nothing to do with it. עשו שונא ליעקב is built into our history, long before you became obssessed with Zionism. Your efforts to sew discord into the ranks of Klal Yisroel are worse than any of the Zionist ideas. I suggest you both visit your psychiatrists, take your meds, and hide under a rock. The IDF will porotect you and risk their lives for that (With Ezras Hashem, of course). And you will be left to your internal rage and heartburn.
We need to do proper hishtadlus to stop the terror attacks. Making the consequences severe is the only way. Gedolei Yisroel, at the time of the first intifada, suggested taking major revenge attacks. The establishment nixed the idea. Well, it’s time.
Instead of grieving over the medina, the IDF, and Zionism, why don’t you take a Tehilim, daven for the refuah of all the wounded, daven for the protection and safety of all Jews world over, and take your meds.
this idea sounds amazing, but they should also throw them all out of the land
Might cause huge problem for Yidden though. We don’t have a beis din. We should teach these terrorists a lesson and the problem is they don’t care about life anyway. When USA saw no hope with Hiroshima…
From Wikipedia: A Sanhedrin that puts a man to death once in seven years is called a murderous one. Rabbi Eliezer ben Azariah said, ‘Or even once in 70 years.’ Rabbi Tarfon and Rabbi Akiba said, ‘If we had been in the Sanhedrin, no death sentence would ever have been passed’; Rabban Simeon ben Gamaliel said, ‘If so, they would have multiplied murderers in Israel.
Such an excellent idea, and must be implemented & made into law, immediately.
Bear in mind that electric chair in 🇮🇱 would work even more effectively than in 🇺🇸, since 🇮🇱 is on 220volts rathan 🇺🇸 on 110 volts.
It should be obvious to Ben Gvir that if you execute Arab terrorists, then the secular Israeli legal system must also rule that a Jewish terrorist is a candidate for execution. Halachically, a secular Israeli court may not kill a Jew – and perhaps not a non-Jew either. They don’t care about halacha, but, hopefully, people on this website do care. That is not to say that a kosher beis din can apply the death penalty either.
Probably, revoking the family’s benefits or Israeli citizenship (for those who have it), deportation to Gaza or the like would be more effective than the death penalty. The threat of death is not a deterrent. Death only serves to turn the terrorist into a martyr and his family will get pay-to-slay gelt – perfect motivation to goad others to follow the same path. They don’t value life but when they’re alive, they don’t like to suffer. Therefore, the other punitive measures I suggested may prove to deter them way more than the threat of death.
@Concerned Jew2, Dovid Hamelech did not need a Sanhedrin to execute Plishtim. Your concern is unfounded, and your comment is irrelevant.
to americanyeshivish – do you have any substantial critique to my post beyond my choice of font?
to The little I know – you write ” Gedolei Yisroel, at the time of the first intifada, suggested taking major revenge attacks” AFRA LEPUMEI!! Au contraire! As I’ve mentioned many times, the Gedolei HaDor are near unanimous in their support, both explicitly & implicitly, for Neturei Karta (may Hashem grant them much hatzlocho) and their opposition to Zionist כוחי ועוצם ידי!
And please don’t be mevazeh Chazal by taking a ma’amar in the Gemora out of context and distorting it into a haskomo for Zionist apikorsus . Chas VeSholom!
Yossi,
I just spoke to you former Rebbe and he says you should go suck on a light socket but please make sure it’s plugged in.
Yossi:
This discussion is not about NK. That’s your obssession. Take your meds. It is about terror that needs to be stopped. And nothing short of drastic measures has ever led to a decrease in terror. My quote from Gedolei Yisroel was perfectly accurate, and I verified it many times. You may disagree, and claim to be on their level. I doubt that. But their words are immortal. And anytime there was drastic action, terror slowed down greatly. With your psychiatric condition, you wish toii see more Jewish lives slaughtered. Not me. Take your meds and go hide somewhere. If you prefer Iran better, go there.
akuperma mistakenly proclaims “No one in the world uses electric chairs”. I guess akuperma considers the following NINE States that use the electric chair as “no one”:
Alabama,
Florida,
South Carolina,
Kentucky, and
Tennessee.
In addition, Kentucky, Tennessee. Arkansas and Oklahoma laws provide for use of the electric chair should lethal injection ever be held to be unconstitutional. They too must be “no one” as far as akuperma is concerned.
GHD, there is a huge difference between violence directed against our nation and violence intended to defend our nation, even if the victim is innocent. How are “price tag” attacks different from what Etzel and Lechi did? They too attacked random Arabs in order to ensure that the Arabs know Jewish blood is not hefker, and they will pay a price for spilling it. That is not ideal, but sometimes it’s the only thing you can do, and it’s certainly not the moral equivalent of the anti-Israel terrorism that it is intended to avenge.
To whoever invoked the Sanhedrin, a Sanhedrin that has to execute someone once in seven years is condemned because it should have put the fear of G-d in the people so that nobody would dare commit such crimes, and there would be no need to execute anyone. Even a well-regulated society will have a capital crime occur now and then, but not so frequently as once in seven years. But if capital crimes are being committed then the Sanhedrin is OBLIGATED to execute as many people as necessary, even eighty in one day.
To “Yossi”, the people you call “gedolei hador” are all tiny little NOTHINGS, whose opinion is worthless, not only on this subject but on any subject. I spit on their so-called “torah”, which is garbage and from the Sitra Achara. All the true gedolei hatorah support Israel’s continued existence; some enthusiastically and some reluctantly, but they all support it, and they all oppose those who are using the name “Neturei Karta” to commit treason against the Jewish nation.
I rarely find much agreement with Milhouse but his comments above are well taken. My primary point of disagreement is whether random vigilante murders really have any deterrent effect versus simply providing additional incentives to these terrorists for martyrdom.
GHD:
That’s why I second the motion to maim them, torture them, and let them have arichas yomim with extended suffering. No martyrdom in that.
The Death Penalty should most certainly be brought back, but not the electric chair.
Arab terrorists should either receive a bullet through the head and then be publicly hanged for the remainder of the day, or be beheaded and wrapped in pig skin and then hastily buried in an unknown location so no one can dig it up or visit.
