Ezras Torah: Car Crushes 8-Year-Old Boy On Way To Cheder

Three pedestrians, including an eight-year-old boy on his way to cheder, were injured on Monday morning in a car accident on Rechov Ezras Torah in Jerusalem.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that the driver of a private car veered off the road onto the sidewalk and crashed into the wall of a nearby building, hitting the boy who was on his way to cheder as well as two other passersby. It is unclear what caused the driver to veer off the road.

Paramedics who were called to the scene administered emergency aid to the three victims.

Hatzalah paramedics Rami Doev and Yisrael Litzman said: “Three pedestrians – an 8-year-old boy, a 65-year-old man, and a young man about 20 years old – were hit by a car. With the help of other medics, we administered initial medical treatment at the scene.”

“The boy, who was on his way to school with his lunch bag, was moderately injured and was taken to the hospital suffering from bruises and injuries to his upper body – after he was crushed against the wall of a residential building. The 30-year-old driver of the car who was injured on his head was also treated at the scene and is in light condition.”
