B’Chasdei Hashem: Terror Attack Thwarted In The Old City Of Jerusalem

The quick response of Jerusalem District police officers and a Border Guard officer in the Old City of Jerusalem on Motzei Shabbos prevented a terror attack, b’chasdei Hashem.

Police officers noticed a 14-year-old Arab youth who aroused their suspicion. They carried out a body search and found a knife on him.

The suspect, a resident of Issawiya, was taken for questioning. A preliminary investigation showed that he intended to carry out a stabbing attack.

The commander of the Jerusalem district, Superintendent Doron Turgeman, praised the vigilance of the police officers: “This is another example of the professionalism of the Jerusalem District police officers and Border Guard officers working in the city in the ongoing fight against terrorism,” he said. “The vigilance of the police officers, their quick response and pursuit of contact led to the arrest of the suspect who was suspected of planning to carry out an attack with a knife he had in his possession.

“In the face of terrorist threats, there is no substitute for the determined activity of our police officers who work around the clock to thwart terror activity and deal with any security threat. We will continue to fight terrorism with all the tools at our disposal and thwart terrorist threats of any kind for the sake of the security of the citizens of the State of Israel.”

  1. “In the face of terrorist threats, there is no substitute for the determined… – learning and support of Torah and obviously Tefilloh and uncompromising shmiras hamitzvos!
Police and Border Guard officers are a necessary hishtadlus, but cannot succeed without the Zchus of Torah, Tefilloh and Mitzvos.
