U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to travel to Israel later this month and meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu amid the Biden administration’s criticism of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s “far-right” policies and his visit to Har HaBayis last week, Ynet reported on Monday morning.

Blinken’s arrival will be the first visit by a senior Biden administration official since the formation of Netanyahu’s new government and is expected to pave the ground for Netanyahu’s visit to the US next month, as well as to explore the new government’s direction in depth.

According to the report, there are concerns among Biden administration officials regarding the new government and its latest developments, including the planned reforms of the Israeli justice system by Justice Minister Yariv Levin.

Prior to Blinken’s visit, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is expected to arrive in Israel in mid-January for talks with Netanyahu, his Israeli counterpart Tzachi Hanegbi, and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.

Following Ben-Gvir’s visit to Har HaBayis, the US Embassy in Israel issued a condemnation of the move. “Ambassador Nides was very clear in his talks with the Israeli government on the issue of preserving the status quo at the holy sites in Jerusalem,” the embassy spokesperson said. “Actions that prevent this are unacceptable.”

State Department spokesman Ned Price also criticized the move as well as
US Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Robert Wood, who said in a speech to the UN Security Council that the White House is opposed to “unilateral acts that exacerbate tensions or undermine the viability of a two-state solution” and expects Israel to “maintain the status quo at the Temple Mount.”

  1. Israel should tell that filthy demented Alzheimer diseased treasonous DemonRat zombie in the White House, he should keep his filthy nose out of Israel’s business and stick to destroying his own country,(which he is doing a pretty good job)

  2. The main show is in the Ukraine. Already Iran has become a major actor. Turkey is threatening to invade Syria, whose government is under Russian protection, and is sort of allied with Iran. It is not hard to come up with a series of events that end up with Turkey and Israel on one side, with Russia, Syria and Iran on the other, with control of western Asia in the balance.

THE USA FEARS ISRAEL WILL SO ANTAGONIZE THE ARABS that it will cause many of America’s Arab allies to switch sides. The announced plans of some of Likud’s nationalist allies would make the Americans (and NATO) nervous. Remember, this is World War III we are talking about, not a middle eastern real estate dispute that should have been settled generations ago.

  3. What is it any of their business? Anytime Israel seeks to defend itself the nations try to prevent it. In the meantime, liberal Jews are inciting behind the scenes and that is the fuel that pushes this pressure.

  4. To chugibugi: Do you want the US to withdraw its financial and military support for Israel? Yes, Hashem is looking out for Israel, but maybe the US is part of how He does it. Are you sure you want the US to leave Israel alone?
