Labor MK and Reform Rabbi Gilad Kariv took advantage of his parliamentary immunity on Sunday morning, Rosh Chodesh Teves, to create a provocation by bringing a Sefer Torah into the women’s section of the Kosel, a violation of Israeli law.
Like every Rosh Chodesh, a small group of women from the Women of the Wall group showed up at the Kosel and were assisted in their plans by Kariv, who brazenly used the kodesh Sefer Torah for political purposes.
The Kosel ushers asked Kariv to leave the women’s section but he refused to do so.
“The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, which faced a very complex challenge and made tremendous efforts to enable an orderly Tefillas Rosh Chodesh, calls to remove the disputes and demonstrations from the Kosel plaza and let it remain kodesh and united,” a statement from the foundation said.

Good riddance!
May he immediately do a complete teshuva through regretting his actions, and publicizing that he was wrong – thus hastening the geula shleima (“ישראל עושין תשובה ומיד הן נגאלין”).
Ironies of ironies, that the modern day Hellenists purposely make a provocation towards the loyal Torah- observant Jews on Chanukah!!!!
Before July 1967 the Kotel was
Wasn’t gonna comment, but because @Menachem_Shmei is nauseating me now with his pretend love of Yiddishe neshamos, which masks, I am certain, his true core total apathy towards the issurim of hasata and its ilk, I’ll just quickly respond here: Yes, @Menachem_Shmei, darling, if you were a huge gadol then I would perhaps believe you, but… judging by the fact that you at least at times waste your life (as do I, at times, as well, of course) commenting on stupid bittul-zman websites… we can be very confident that you are very much not a gadol and therefore, I say, to your false and misplaced sentiment specifically (and not to the reality, which, ironically, does indeed match your words): No, no, no, darling, we hope for nothing of the sort; we hope he becomes very deathly ill and rots in Hell.
Yashar,
If you were a true gadol, then maybe I would believe you that you are nauseated by someone’s aveiros.
But seeing that you comment on bittul zman websites, I am more leaning to say that you also have some things that you need to do teshuva for.
Maybe through davening for Hashem’s other children to do teshuva (in addition to rejoicing that they don’t chas v’shalom have any position of power over other Yidden, as I did in the beginning of my comment), Hashem will help you do teshuva as well…
If we hope for another Yid to get “the full punishment he deserves”, how can we ask Hashem to lighten our punishments and have rachmonus? No one asked us to represent the satan. Our job is to pray for our brothers. יתמו חטאים ולא חוטאים
how can we ask Hashem to lighten our punishments and have rachmonus?___this is wisdom……however it is always the wisdom that is at the front line….Women of the Wall and this pretending priest of G-d….are both and all incumbent of evil……let Hashem decide…..wise words…..nice to comment to let Hashem know we don’t enjoy this behavior
@Menachem_Shmei wins this round.
Good game.
Until next time…
