Labor chairman Merav Michaeli published a campaign video on Thursday containing scaremongering anti-religious messages.
In the video, a woman is seen being woken up by her cell phone loudly beeping with an “alarming” alert: “Gender separation on buses.” She turns off the alarm, only to be woken up again by another alert: “A ban on abortions.”
The video then changes scenes to a man lying in bed waking up to a message: “Gender separation in academic institutions,” followed by “Conversion treatments for the LGBTQ sector;” “A ban on women singing;” “No entry for women;” and “Tznius in public areas.”
Overwhelmed, he gives up on turning off the alerts and places his pillow over his head.
A warning then appears on the screen: “It’s Time To Wake Up. So We Don’t Wake Up To A DIFFERENT ISRAEL. It’s in our hands on November 1. Change the reality.”
Michaeli already began her anti-religious campaign by publicizing her plan to operate the Tel Aviv light rail on Shabbos. The move is solely an election spin since she lacks the authority to change the religious status quo.
Kol Chai journalist Avi Ravina responded to the video by stating: “Merav Michaeli competes with Lieberman and launches a religious scaremongering campaign – disconnected from reality. Someone should tell her that it didn’t work for Lieberman.”

note to mr ravina: labour is going after meretz voters, not lieberman.
and if it works, it will be thanks to increasing friction between hareidi and secular israelis, not all of which has been caused by the seculars.

Caring about LGBT rights but not religious rights… and they call it a “Jewish” state. What a big fat joke. At this point, moving to Israel is a Yeridah and not an Aliyah.
MK Merav Michaeli is one of MK Moshe Gafni’s closest allies in the Knesset. While I understand the imperatives of politics, and while I am all for maintaining good relationships with a wide variety of Jews, I still find their friendship more than a little odd.
From the beginning the status quo was that it should be a secular state with some trappings of Judaism. The religious were merely used to put some lipstick on a chazer.
Labor has become a minor has-been party. They come in 5th place.
I am FRUM and if I have to say I am Hareidi I will…..as far as the secular race of jews that we love in the Torah in our words….just that kindly incredible words……how diminished they seem now in front of me…..never at my table will this horror of Liberal and nonsense Jews be in my world or life…
The left in Israel is sliding down hill fast. So they try to arrouse the local seculars hatred towards religion to garnish votes.
IT will not work, most people see the left as lovers of Arabs and causing much Arab violence.
