When IDF medical officials, headed by Brigadier-General Dr. Ash, the IDF’s chief medical officer, began the process of identifying the bodies of Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, they also performed a quasi autopsy as it is being described, in the hope of determining if the soldiers were killed in the attack or if they died later.
While medical officials admit they cannot say with absolute certainty, they are reporting with a high probability of certainty that both soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev were killed in the initial attack.
Regev was shot in his head when he stepped out of the hummer patrol vehicle and Goldwasser was hit with an RPG rocket in the initial Hizbullah assault against the vehicle.
