The IDF Spokesman’s Office announced the decision was made to promote each of the reserve duty soldiers a rank, as is customary for soldiers killed in the line of duty.

Ehud Goldwasser was 33, married less than a year when he was taken captive. He was the son of Miki and Shlomo, and a brother to Yair and Gadi.

Eldad Regev was 27, single, and a son to Tova z”l and Tzvi, a brother to Benny, Ofer and Eyal.
