Minister of Pensioner Affairs Rafi Eitam, a former Mossad Intelligence Agency director, released a statement on Wednesday afternoon that he does not believe the Regev-Goldwasser exchange deal will result in increased attempts to abduct IDF soldiers.
“When serving as the prime minister’s counter-terrorism advisor we were aware that terror organizations will do whatever they can. Therefore, the exchange deal will not increase the likelihood of an attack. As Jews, we are compelled to redeem captives. This has a historical precedent and is dear to our hearts.”
