The memorial to terror victim Chaim Korman HY”D in the so-called Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City was vandalized by Arabs during the night of the eve of 19 Shevat 5774. Korman was stabbed to death by attackers over 30 times near the Lion’s Gate to the Old City. He managed to fire his weapon, wounding the attackers, who fled with his weapon.
The terrorists responsible for the murder were arrested in 2000, about two years after the fatal attack. They were sentenced to life in prison, released in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange.
The discovery of the vandalism attack was made on Monday morning. The memorial stands on Via Dolorosa Street in the Old City. One of the vandals signed the name “Mustafa” in English on the memorial.
