Members of the Security Cabinet on Wednesday heard briefings from the heads of the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet), the Mossad and the IDF. Among the information passed to the ministers was the fact that today, Hizbullah has 40,000 rockets aimed at Haifa and other cities in Israel.

All the experts are in agreement, stating that today, Hizbullah is approximately three times stronger than prior to the Second Lebanon War, having used the last two years to rehabilitate itself.

Many of the rockets are situated very close to the northern border, placing approximately the upper half of the country in range.

Israel reports that despite the UNIFIL force deployed in southern Lebanon, which is 10,000 strong, no one is seeking to enforce UN Resolution 1701, the disarming of Hizbullah. In actuality, quite the contrary is true and the terror organization is becoming a greater threat by the day.

Despite the fact Israel is aware the UNIFIL force will not do anything to stop Hizbullah, Jerusalem is requesting that the mandate of the force be increased.
